What's the first thing...

that comes to mind when you think February? For me it's Valentine's Day. With Valentine's Day just a few short weeks away, our DT has been working on some fabulous projects that will hopefully inspire you to create some homemade goodies for your Valentine(s).

Jenn made this cute heart-shaped Valentine.

She used the new Silhouette Nesting Scallop Hearts and Chocolate Covered Strawberry. The title was cut with the 4x8 Banana Split alphabet and the heart is from the original Icing Rub-Ons starter set. This would be a great card to stick inside your hubby's lunchbox for a little surprise!

Now, look at what Brenda created!

She calls it the "Love Bug Pencil Valentine". Isn't it adorable?! To create this, Brenda started with a new Valentine themed pencil. Then she grabbed a 1" x 11 3/4" piece of Cardstock and using her Score-Pal she scored at 1 inch intervals. Then she used the BK Cameron Font to create the facial features. She cut one uppercase "O" and cut in half for the mouth, two lowercase "o" centers for the eyes, and one lowercase "o" center for the nose. To create the antennas, Brenda used the Quickutz Butterfly KS-0413. She also used a punch for the center of each square to create the hole for the pencil to go through and a corner rounder to round the edge of the bug's face. Here's a close-up of the little guy:

This would be an awesome Valentine for your kids to give to their friends at school!

Veronica had was feelin' the love too. She created this beautiful layout to document her wedding.

Veronica started out with some beautiful Pink Paislee papers and added the Quickutz Revolution Birds, Revolution Label, and she mixed the Jacqueline and Banana Split fonts. Here are some close-ups of the title and journaling.

Such a beautiful layout!

I do have one announcement before I close today. Scrap-Mart will now be carrying stamps!!

At CHA, we met the fabulous team from Unity Stamp Company. They have a very unique stamp block and their stamps are just wonderful. Here's a quick video from Angela at Unity describing their stamps and blocks.

What do you think? I can't wait to get my order and ink 'em up! I have a little giveaway for you today. All you have to do is leave us a comment on THIS post and let us know what you think about the new stamps. I will randomly pick a winner to receive 3individual stamp samples from Unity that I brought home from CHA.

Well, I hope you've found some inspiration in these projects and that you're as excited as we are about the new products coming. If you are creating homemade Valentine's for your children, family, or school we'd love to see them. Email them to me at Katie@scrap-mart.com and we can share them here on the blog. Don't forget about our "With us Wednesdays". Every Wednesday we'll be sharing projects from our readers. I hope you all have a faboulous Monday and we'll see you back here Wednesday. Thanks for stoppin' by!

Interesting design. I'm always up for using fewer resources whenever possible. Just the concept of using less wood for a stamp is wonderful. (I'm a real stamping rookie, but as flexible as acrylics are, I prefer the actual quality of wood stamps vs. acrylic)

Wow, these are nice stamps. I'm glad that Scrap-Mart is carrying them, they look great. I love and prefer wood stamps over acrylic too. And I love that these would take up so mush less room then the regular wooden stamps that we're used to. So I can't wait to place my first order for them :)

Jill - I agree - I don't stamp much mainly because I get frustrated with my acrylic stamps - rubber stamps give a nice, even, clean image. I can't wait to try these out!

I love the caterpillar idea-maybe I'll be making my nieces that for V-day! I like Unity's idea about the slide in stamps. Haven't seen that one before!

Hello girls...this is only my opinion, but I don't have trouble with acrylic or wood and have been stamping for...hmmm, not gonna tell ya after all.

But, I have always felt it was the ink and not the stamp that typically causes the problems.

I do run into a few problems if the stamp itself is too narrow for a good, clean image, but again, with the right ink you never have to press hard so the narrow image will work too.

It will be fun to see their designs. Their system also sounds interesting. I tend to like rubber stamps over acrylic stamps.

I'm so glad everyone is as excited as we are to add Unity to our store!

Denise, we will carry many of them. I know that's probably not a very good answer but I can tell you that the entire CHA release was ordered...plus some! How's that? I'll keep you all updated on when they arrive in stock!

Thanks for stoppin' by and good luck to you all! Katie

Crafty Deb (my idol love your fabulous imagination with off the cuff uses of dies :) I also agree about the ink. I may just as well lay it all out there and admit to needing help w/ both stamps and inks. Maybe Katie and the DT can do a blog on this? Which in for which purpose/which paper/which stamp/etc.??

They have a great idea bridging the storability of acrylics & the great images you get with rubber. Can't wait to get my hands on one for myself.

These stamps look great!!! I want to use them right now. I love the idea of different looks with the same stamp.

Hi girls, thanks for the lovely compliment Jill I love feedback! I think I will be doing a video with these stamps and some special hints using my most secret weapon that is no longer a secret...Copic markers! Scrap-Mart has asked me to do my presentation that I do at shows for my demos. I would love to share this information with you. Keep watching.
